O2 Announce iPhone 4 Tariff

The UK may not yet have handset pricing, but we do have our first tariffs.

Today saw O2 officially announce their tariffs for the upcoming iPhone 4.
Their are 12 pay monthly deals available, split evenly between 18 month and 24 month terms. Pay As You Go options are also available for those looking to buy the phone outright.

All pay monthly plans offer unlimited text messages, visual voicemail, and a fixed MMS rate of 20p.
The cheapest of the plans, at £25 per month, offers 100 minutes talk time, and 500MB of data per month. This extends up to unlimited talk time and 1GB of data per month, but only if you’re willing to stump up £60 per month on a 2 year deal!

It seems O2 have more options available than previous iPhone’s, however, it also seems like they have alienated some people by capping data usage.
This is a move that is expected to be followed by the other UK carriers, in a bid to prevent a surge in 3G activity so as not to cripple the 3G network.

The network ‘3′ have today also announced that they will be offering the iPhone 4.
3 and the remaining carriers are yet to show their hand, but are expected to announce tariffs within the next few days.

Full O2 tariff information can be found on the O2 website: http://shop.o2.co.uk/new-iphone/tariffs.html
